PDEA BUSTS 5 DRUG PERSONALITIES IN ILOILO, CAGAYAN DE ORO, DAVAO DEL NORTE

 

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested five drug personalities during separate buy-bust operations in Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Davao del Norte on March 12, 2012.

 

 

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez, Jr. identified the suspects as Arnulfo Hallares, 43, single, a resident of Barangay Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City; Jezreel John Galupo, 25, single, and Abdulkhalid Alangadi, 25-year-old businessman, both residents of 17th Street, Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City; Jet Jit Egbo, a 40-year-old cook, residing at Lower Apokon, Purok 7, Tagum City and Arvin Saludes, 31, residing at Zafra, Tagum City.

 

 

Hallares was arrested by operatives of PDEA Regional Office 6 (PDEA RO6) under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz during a buy-bust operation conducted on March 12 at Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro, Iloilo City, after selling one sachet of shabu to a PDEA poseur-buyer. Further search on Hallares yielded another seven sachets of shabu weighing approximately 10 grams. Also recovered from the suspect were cellular phone used in illegal-drug transactions and a pouch where the illegal drugs were kept.

 

 

Hallares faces charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

 

 

Meanwhile, elements of PDEA Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO10), under Director Roberto Opeña, arrested Jezreel John Galupo during a buy-bust operation conducted along 17th Street, Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City. An hour after the arrest, a follow-up operation was conducted by the team in the same area which led to the apprehension of Abdulkhalid Alangadi after he sold one plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer. The suspect yielded another 2 plastic sachets of shabu after a lawful search.

 

 

The suspects are currently under the custody of PDEA RO10. They are now facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

 

 

In Davao del Norte, operatives of PDEA Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO11) under Director Emerson Rosales arrested Jet Jit Egbo and Arvin Saludes during a buy-bust operation at Rizal Street, Tagum City after the two suspects conspired to sell one plastic sachet of shabu to a PDEA poseur-buyer.

 

 

The suspects are now temporarily detained at PDEA RO11 jail facility. Charges for violation of Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.
